Culturally responsive education takes into consideration the factors that influence a student’s identity, background and experiences in order to make his or her education more impactful. Teachers come to know their students in a way that makes teaching more effective and engage students by relating subject matter to their identity in meaningful ways.

CRE College and Career Readiness
The New York City Department of Education provides benchmarks for determining whether a student is on track for a successful college and career experience. These benchmarks assess qualifications and achievements in four domains: Common Core Learning Standards, Academic and Personal Behaviors, Academic Programming and College and Career Access. Track the readiness of your students using this guideline.
